Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how HoardX ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the HoardX mobile application and related services (the "Service").
Information We Collect
Account information. When you sign in with Apple, we receive your Apple ID, name (if you choose to share it), and email address. We may also collect a handle you create and an optional bio.
Inventory data. We store the items you catalog, including photos you upload, descriptions, brands, conditions, quantities, locations, tags, notes, and folder names.
Marketplace activity. When you make or receive offers, we store the offers, messages, ratings, transaction status, and any associated payment information processed through Stripe.
Photos and AI scans. When you scan an item with our AI feature, we transmit the captured photo to our backend, which then sends it to a third-party AI provider (currently OpenAI) to identify the item. The photo is processed and discarded; only the extracted text data is returned. We do not retain the photo on our servers.
Device information. We collect standard device information including device model, OS version, app version, IP address, and crash logs through analytics services.

Third-Party Services
We share data with the following providers as needed to operate the Service:
- OpenAI — AI-assisted item scanning
- Stripe — Payment processing and Connect onboarding
- Apple — Sign in with Apple authentication, App Store / In-App Purchase billing
- RevenueCat — Subscription and in-app purchase orchestration
- Expo Push Notifications — Delivery of push notifications
- EasyPost / Shippo — Shipping label generation
- Sentry — Error tracking
- PostHog — Analytics
We do not sell personal information to third parties.
Data Retention and Deletion
We retain account and inventory data until you delete your account. You can delete your account from Settings; deletion is permanent and completes within 30 days. Marketplace transaction records may be retained longer to comply with tax and legal obligations (typically 7 years).

Children
HoardX is not directed to users under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected such information, we will delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy. We will notify you of material changes within the app and update the "Last updated" date above.
